The Senior Database Administrator will serve as a lead for DBA team in the planning, development and maintenance of the databases systems for all applications utilizing relational databases. The senior database administrator will make technical recommendations, develop and implement policies, standards and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the enterprise database and perform database performance monitoring and implement efficiency improvements. The position’s primary focus will be Oracle E-Business, Oracle Balanced Score Card, Maximus Asset Management and Optram way-side maintenance packages. The senior database administrator is required to perform regular database backup and recovery test, disaster recovery test and data archiving for the environment. The database administrator will also apply all necessary Oracle patches for both ERP and Maximums applications and databases and support the developers and users with database related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Serve as lead worker in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of an integrated database system which contains multiple applications.
2. Apply patches of Oracle E-Business Suites, Oracle Balanced Score Card and Maximums applications and databases.
3. Performs regular database backup, recovery test and data archive. Participate in the periodical disaster recovery test.
4. Performs periodical data migration from Production to QA and development environments.
5. Provides technical assistance to other systems personnel. Recommends and executes the procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures within established procedures. Determines database storage requirements.
6. Monitors the performance of the database and regulates the access to the database to ensure data integrity.
7. Coordinates use of data to ensure data integrity and controls redundancy. Establishes and controls necessary database security.
8. Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervisory responsibility for Database Administrators I, II, and III. Must be able to lead DBA’s in providing support to the Oracle ERP and Maximus EAM system.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 7 years of job related experience or skill with Oracle databases, Oracle Real Application Cluster, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Balanced Score Card, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Veritas Cluster File System, the UNIX operating system, and the Windows 2003 Server environment. Must be experienced in shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL language, Oracle Grid Control and TOAD utility. Must have demonstrated knowledge of current database technologies and of data analysis techniques. Must have in-depth knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming, systems design, computer operations, systems and procedures and of project control and cost estimating techniques. In lieu of a degree, directly related job experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Language Skills
1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
2. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
3. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
1. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
2. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to analyze data in database systems.
