Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a SQL Database Administrator with 5 – 10 years experience as a DBA, specializing in SQL Server, but with skills as an Oracle DBA as well.
Position requires strong SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 DBA skills and strong communication skills to support our client’s system developers and end users. Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge and experience as an Oracle DBA, although the primary focus of this position is SQL Server.
This is a contract position. 3 months, perhaps as long as 6 months.
The job will require:
– General database administration support
- Performance tuning
- Willingness to be on-call during off-hours
- Understanding of relational database design
- Skills in SQL optimization
- Replication and mirroring experience
- SQL Server T-SQL
- Ability to program stored procedures and triggers.
- Backup and recovery
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Candidates should possess a computer related degree. DBA certification is desired.
