BMT Designers & Planners (D&P) is currently seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with a solid technical background who wants to join a growing IT support team. D&P provides high caliber technical and managerial consultancy services including Advanced Technology, Ship Acquisition and Engineering, Risk & Environment and IT to the US military, and domestic and international commercial clients.

The SQL Server DBA must have experience supporting Application Developers, performing database maintenance, and developing SQL queries. The DBA will perform all SQL Server related maintenance for the production and non-production systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to the SQL Server and Windows environment. Facilitate application development and effectively resolve client problems with accuracy. The DBA will provide performance monitoring and tuning, identify problems and implement solutions, and ensure the database is running at optimum speed and efficiency. Perform database backup and recovery, respond quickly to refresh data, verify implementation of correct backup strategy, develop recovery procedures, and support recovery from loss of data caused by application, user or system error.

Experience: Relevant combination of training and 3 years SQL Server DBA experience mandatory.

Qualifications:

•Strong experience with the database engine including script creation and maintenance, security, data modeling, moving data, and setting up back-up procedures.
•Experience working within a security infrastructure, PKI, SSL and firewall, including an understanding of DoD security policies.

•Microsoft certification is a plus.

•Previous experience working with US Navy will be strongly considered.

•Self-motivated and proactive.

•Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
•Works on problems and issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
•Interfaces with program support team and clients to solve business issues.
•Acts independently as needed to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
•Has a broad expertise and skills to contribute to development of team and company objectives to achieve goals in creative and effective way.

Qualified candidate must hold US citizenship or provide current proof of eligibility to work in the US and be able to obtain a federal security clearance.
