SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Leads the management of the Company’s system infrastructure in order to provide the most efficient and effective support for current operations and future information technology requirements. Oversees the planning, design, and implementation of new systems or changes in existing data processing systems to support management control and decision-making activities. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all corporate datastores, including SQL Server and FileMaker as well as maintenance and development of business applications (FileMaker Pro, salesforce.com).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Defining requirements for improving and/or replacing internal database/application systems; developing, documenting and implementing such systems

• Designs database structures to manage corporate information requirements

• Provide systems analysis and technical direction to other IT personnel managing existing databases/systems

• Manages the budgets, projects and priorities for the Company’s database administrators (2)

• Designs methods for controlling access to secure information and for measuring the accuracy of data used to develop information.

• Create new and modify existing reports for deployment on reports server for distribution to user community

• Monitor transaction trends to identify and prevent trouble conditions including, record locking, transaction commit lag, etc.

• Manage migration of information from legacy systems and alternative databases to SQL Server when appropriate

• Identify resource requirements for all database servers and applications and communicate recommendation to Chief Financial Officer

• Perform additional customizations to applications based on requests from other department management

• Maintain and extend functionality of Filemaker, Tigerpaw and Salesforce.com as required, including liaison with contractors and consultants

• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Fundamental understanding of Windows Server and Workstation

• Experience with SQL Server Administration, database design and implementation

• Experience with FileMaker, FoxPro, ODBC, ADO and RDO

• Familiarity with Salesforce.com helpful

EDUCATIONAL/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree, MCSE (with SQL Server Admin elective) or equivalent work experience

• Ten or more years of experience managing an information technology system, including database administrators and database design and data communication design concepts

• Excellent analytical and management skills

• Proficiency in latest information technology systems and applications
