Job Description
Monitor systems and platforms for availability.
Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
Restore and recover corrupted databases
Install and test upgrades and patches
Implement security and encryption
Provide 24/7 support for critical situations
Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions
Develop database utilities and automated reporting
Create shell scripts for task automation
Create, test and execute data management languages
Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
Set up data sharing and disk partitioning
Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
Design and document database architecture. Data Modeling.
Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform
This position requires 24×7 on-call support with a 5 minute response time on regular rotation schedule currently shared with 6 other DBAs, which means one 7 day week every 7 weeks.
Another rotation schedule spot is production deploys, which usually begin early morning (as early as 5am), and this rotation spot lasts one 5-day week every 7 weeks.

Experience Required
Bachelors Degree or above, or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years experience in Oracle database administration
